Hello! My name is Amanda and I am honored to have the opportunity to join you in your life journey. My interest is in helping clients to thrive in rich, full and meaningful lives. I love working with couples, adolescents, and the family system. I believe life's challenges must be met with care, compassion, acceptance, and commitment, even in the past or painful experiences we wish to black out or avoid. It is then that we are opened to the true joy of what is most important to us . I was born and raised in North Carolina. I lived for a decade in Colorado before moving to Idaho in 2017. I love the outdoors, yoga, all animals, and playing with my two year old son (when he is not throwing a tantrum). Mostly, I love meeting new people from all walks of life. They help grow my perspective and build understanding of the world around me. I currently live in Boise with my husband and our our two year old son, Louie.
My Training and Interests
I am currently a graduate student with Capella University, finishing my clinical supervision while working with clients at Treasure Wellness Counseling. As a firmer believer of "life happens" I have completed most of my training through an online COAMFTE and CACREP accredited program Capella University while working full time and raising my child. I will graduate in 2019 after completing all of my direct hours under clinical supervision. This is the reason I am able to offer reduced fees of $20 per session for individuals, families, and couples! I feel fortunate to be able to meet this need for Boise and the surrounding area. I am also a proud member of Idaho Association of Marriage and Family Therapy where I find so much inspiration from seasoned therapist mentors. I love working with clients on relational interactions and healing from the inside out. I am getting acquainted with a passion for Play Therapy and Narrative Therapy techniques. I incorporate a lot of Emotion Focused, Structural, and Solution Focused therapy into my approach with Clients. My passion is to work with those struggling to discover their authentic selves in order to move through pain and suffering and to create fuller and richer lives as the end result.
